About me
Hunter Scheppat, 2026
I graduated cum laude from Boston College in May 2026 with a B.S. in Management and a B.A. in Computer Science. I work as a research assistant at the AI4 Communication Sciences Lab, where I study machine translation for endangered languages.
My interests include open-source natural language processing, low-resource machine translation, data augmentation, and interactive machine learning. Previously, I worked on the Pushkin Project, taught Data Structures, and served as president of the Boston College Computer Science Society.
Most of my current work concerns the Formosan languages of Taiwan. See the research page for papers and talks, or the software page for tools and repositories.
Professionally, I am an Associate Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services.
